Friends of Palestine are delighted to welcome Senator Frances Black to the Aurivo Auditorium on Wednesday 16th of October to discuss the Occupied Territories Bill along with a panel of guests. The OTB aims to make trading in goods and services with illegal settlements in territories that are occupied, including Israeli settelments in occupied Palestine. Senator Black has been at the forefront of political efforts to enact the Bill in the Oireachteas and will discuss what stage the Bill is at and what the aims of passing it are.

About Friends of Palestine Society

1. Vision and Objectives
The Friends of Palestine society will be dedicated to 


  • Providing knowledge about the past and the present challenges and troubles that Palestinians go through.
  • Encouraging simultaneous cultural two-way flow and appreciation of cultural differences between multi cultural student populations.
  • Encourage practice of bringing the Israel/ Palestine conflict, international law and human rights to the debate table.
  • Promoting a peaceful and just society in which human rights for all people of the region is protected and upheld.



2. Planned Activities: The society aims to organize a wide range of activities, including but not limited to:

  • Lectures and Workshops: Hosting guest speakers such as academics and activists to explain and give an insight into the history and politics of Palestine.
  • Cultural Events: Explaining Palestinian music, cuisine and typical arts with the aim of strengthening the culture among youth who belong to Palestinian origin.
  • Film Screenings: Such activities include showing documentaries and movies about Palestine and then engaging the participants in a discussion.
  • Panel Discussions and Debates: Creation of a meaningful discussion and debate, along with the students on various issues concerning Palestine the Palestinian issue, human rights, international politics.
  • Charity Drives and Fundraisers: Supporting charitable causes through the organisation of events such as bake sales, art auctions or charity runs. 
  • Campaigns for Human Rights Awareness: Working with other societies and organizations in order to explain the rights of the Palestinians and other suppressed groups.
