About Basketball Club

ATU Sligo's name is a well known in college basketball in Ireland, we have won all Ireland championship In men’s and women’s. The men’s team played in division 1 against the top teams right before COVID hit this year they are playing in Division 2. Our goals as a club is to create an environment that feels like a family and also to compete against the top teams in Ireland. We pride ourselves on looking out for each other on the court and in the classroom. In the past years we have had a number of American scholarship students on our teams. In 2018/19 season our scholars were Zack Yonda (D3 Swarthmore College) and Conor McClenaghan (D1 Marist College). In 2019/20 our Scholars were Brandon Berry (D3 Elizabethtown, Blue Jays) and Carson Long (D3 Guilford, Quakers).

Our club, which caters for Men’s and Women’s teams, is seeking interest from players of all levels and abilities; we would also welcome individuals who are interested in participating or working behind the scenes to improve the club. Our motto is one of Performance & Excellence through this we believe that all our goals are attainable. Don’t miss your chance to be part of something special that doesn’t come along every day.

For further information contact us through our Facebook page ATU Sligo Basketball club. You must be completing a full 60 credit course in college to be able to try out and play on the team.
